📝 Description
This vintage American ceramic bowl was produced using a mold marked “NEIDA MOLD CO 152”, attributed to a mid-century U.S. mold manufacturer active during the 1940s–1950s. The bowl features a dramatic ribbed or lobed and sculpted ripple body, with a gently flared rim and rounded vertical panels that give the piece an organic, wave-like texture. It exudes modern, minimalist and a contemporary utilitarian appeal, despite being over approx. 75 years old.

Likely created for use as a console bowl, planter, or fruit centerpiece, this form exemplifies the era’s blend of utilitarian function with artistic sculptural design. The glossy ivory-white glaze complements the dimensional form, making it a versatile fit for both mid-century modern and rustic farmhouse interiors.

🧾 Maker Attribution
Neida Mold Co. is believed to have produced molds for studio and hobbyist ceramicists in the U.S. mid-century ceramics boom. These molds were often distributed regionally or through catalog orders, and were used by individual potters or small studios for decorative and functional wares. This particular mold is not associated with mass-market manufacturers like McCoy, but shares similar aesthetic language. These molds were often produced upon commission for local or regional markets in the 1940's - 50's. To come across one in this condition is very rare. It is believed this mold was commissioned by an artist in the NY area. Enhanced OCR imaging of the bottom likely detected this, but severely worn by the obscured USA mark.

🔍 Form Description
The bowl features a sculpted lobed body with evenly spaced, vertical rippled panels that wrap around the lower half.

These molded lobes produce a scalloped silhouette with a subtle floral feel, often compared to lotus, melon, or Art Deco ripple motifs.

The rounded foot and low stance give it excellent stability for use as a table centerpiece or indoor planter.
